WGN, this woman’s employer, is now reporting she was not charged with any crimes and was released.

DHS said earlier she was arrested for assault for throwing objects at agents.

The claims against Lisa Cook were bogus because she did not file a homestead exemption for her second home her in Fulton County Ga which was easily verifiable since those tax records are publicly available

One would think that if she declared 1k to 5 k she would have fallen in the parameters for a second home not an investment property with today’s cost of short term rentals.. Was there a homestead exemption filed for taxes for that home some only the primary residence is eligible not both

NYT reports that Letitia James’s great niece lives in the home that is the subject of the indictment.

The niece reportedly testified before a *different* grand jury, telling them that she had lived there for many years without paying rent. James visits regularly.

Can anyone look up the tax records for that property to see if she claimed a homestead exemption for it since you are only allowed to do so for one residence - Fulton County Ga tax records showed Lisa Cook did NOT file for the homestead exemption so was 100% legal
