I finally played Minecraft for the first time!! A first playthrough in this day and age is a rare experience – so I'm lucky that mine was with my lovely friends, who can turn the game into an improv show at a moment's notice.

been pondering over why i just can't be bothered to care about the newer switch profile icons and decorations (beyond the fomo aspect) and i've decided it's because i can't use miis with them

it may be an emotional change from a couple weeks ago when my estrogen dosage went up, or it may be a tolerance thing from a couple of months ago when they doubled my antidepressant dose and i had to cut it in quarters...

either way i'm lucky to have extra stock of my med to experiment with

my anxiety has been seriously on the fritz lately, been making it hard to do much of anything >_<

it feels a lot like i'm off my meds even though i've been taking them diligently the whole time... might try increasing my dose and see if that helps

i have officially survived the purge 🙏

...and it is just now setting in that i nearly lost my job less than a year after getting a new one 😬

it's looking likely that my team will survive the great purge and things will be business as usual, won't know until most likely tuesday

in the meantime i have a little work that *wasn't* halted, so menial tasks will continue until morale improves

well it's official – i won't know if i have work until at least next week, and i'm on leave until we know more

the good news is:
- it looks rather likely that my team will survive in some form
- if it doesn't, my org is especially good about transfering people to other contracts instead of layoffs

Here's a little detail from my SNES Mouse model that many people probably missed: the cable has text on it! I even measured the proper spacing. That's why the texture for it is so tall.

it's moreso that these things have their *roots* in quarter-munching design because that's how games were expected to be at the time – people wanted arcade-like games at home. the cultural shift away from that was very gradual

but saying that nuance out loud is too long and slow, thus the shorthand

to me the most telling part is that overpopulation and declining birth rates are both contradictory problems, yet these people usually tout them in the same breath. like Which Is It.

(the answer is they believe it's declining birth rates among whites and overpopulation among nonwhites.)
