I feel like games that are "on-rails" are largely underrated in the modern era in terms of how tight and exciting they can be as experiences in ways that games that give you more control aren't
cuz of all the jokes and edits i decided to revisit the original time crisis and ended up surprised the thing i was most impressed by was the level design. each part of the castle, each area, flows smoothly to the next, each action setpiece perfectly set up. nothing feels abrupt or out of place.
