Kirikiriroa/ Hamilton folks. It would be great to have a strong show of support for Te Huia this Sunday 2pm at Hamilton Frankton Station. A key decision is coming up in a couple of weeks on extending the trial by another year and your support could help get this across the line.

do i do it again for 2026
I traveled 80km to vote in the NZ General Election — and here’s why!
An odyssey of discovery comes from a trip to one of NZ’s most remote voting booths.

some top tips for rental scooters in pōneke so u can live ur best life riding them while i cant
January 22, 2026 at 8:40 PM
watching the movie of this and i DO NOT know why they chose to move it to auckland, pōneke is basically a second character in the novel, it makes zero sense.

also i wish we'd cast kiwis for things instead of trying to shape american accents badly
A Mistake - Carl Shuker

wellington author! set in wellington hospital! weird to read whilst in wellington hospital but a solid book about a medical mistake featuring a cast of characters who all had their foibles. very fast, very wellington. quite liked

one of the joys of having a broken limb in pōneke is that appointments are often in kenepuru (a faff to get to) in a ward that's also a faff to get to, so in the end you've done like 3k steps and they're all on crutches

And you should make sure you’re registered to vote NOW. They’re trying to disenfranchise as many voters as possible by stopping same day enrolments or enrolments after the 26th of October. But do it before the 7th of October which I believe is Writ day. Just to be sure.
And, for anyone like me who is a New Zealander living overseas, if you have been back to NZ at any point in the last 3 years, you are eligible to enrol and vote in this election

(the extension of this provision to 6 years was for the 2023 election *only*)
As the date for Election 2026 has been announced (November 7), now is a good time to check if you are enrolled to vote, and to update your details if needed. vote.nz/enrolling/en... #election #decision2026 #nzPol

They intubated me yesterday and it has fucked my voice up incredibly

Can't get anywhere in the depths of my range

They dont have this bit in the medical dramas where they remove the medical tubing and the music swells and the loved ones reunite

I sound like a chipmunk
