I think it is at the start in sortSmart. It checks for the author in the reply being the same as the author of the parent and if there are multiple of those replies then it takes the oldest one, assuming that is the continuation. There is no continuation info in the protocol itself.

I see. The Bluesky app has that when you long press on a hashtag. That is useful.

No, that is something different. I am not sure if there can be any other types of post right now (I don't have the code here right now), but that case handles potentially different (future) post types that the protocol allows for.

Ah, that's a good point. That surely gets broken in the "newest first" and "most popular first" sorting. In the "oldest first" sorting the continuation most likely stays in tact.
Probably the replies of a thread continuation should always come first in all sortings.

In today's story about the @skywalker.thereforeiam.eu dev reading my mind, grabbed latest in git to take a look at how Skywalker was sorting post replies because it felt like it wasn't always surfacing things I'd expect to see and the last two commits are adding controls for reply sorting. Amazing.

Thanks. These are the hard issues where there is not really a one size fits all.
You can now access the sorting option from the thread view. If you change the settings, the view will be immediately re-sorted, so you can see the difference.

Yup. Skywalker has a media gallery tab on profiles. It also has gallery mode for feeds.

The best way to get you posts seen is to get yourself into a web with like-minded people that may repost your posts.

Ah yes. I cannot intercept those starter pack links. Go to the profile of the creator of the starter pack. There you find the starter packs in the starter pack tab.

When you tap on a picture in media view or gallery mode, it will open the post in full screen mode. Here you can swipe up and down to the next previous post.
If a post had multiple pictures you can swipe horizontally through those pictures.

Good to hear. I expect that posts and images will not open accidentally anymore when you scroll your timeline.
Other elements, e.g. labels, may still open.
I had no idea what the consequences of my change would be, so I did not make this change structurely everywhere. I will next release.
