Kellogg’s Rice Krispies Captain Scarlet Spectrum Fuel Bay! Not quite as cool as the bunker but some interesting shapes make up for the lack of play features. Back in the day I sent for an Angel Interceptor from the free model offer (had the others already) but my scumbag postman stole it, boo!

Beast Machines Botanica in plant mode. Whilst it’s not surprising that she’s never had a toy given her weirdness and BM’s unpopularity I still want one

Blackstar Palace Guard! These Flash Gordon-ish dudes only briefly appear in 1 ep but still managed a toy (albeit in completely different colours from the show). Weirdly they are armed with the ice gun packs from the more commonly seen Ice Troopers (who didn’t get toys). They have an oddly peachy ass

Blackstar Palace Guard - a bird-headed man in a spiked blue helmet, should pads and underpants. This is the Laser Light release with light-up blue medallion imbedded in the chest

Transformers Power Run & Strikedown! Their hovercraft mode is particularly nice. Check out Power Run’s epic fivehead! Strikedown’s back-mounted fan seemed self-evidently made for creating water spouts which combined with the lightning powers I gave to Strikedown would sink many a Seacon

Here’s Power Run with his McPartlin-esque Franken-forehead (tempting to cast Strikedown as his Dec). I like his muscly normal arms hiding under the hovercraft skirt kibble

Due to my recent health problems I’ve not been able to go on any charity show trawls for aaaages but I suddenly remembered this beauty I found just as I was getting bad that I forgot to post - LEGO 2585 Track Buggy with Station Master & Cool Kid! A sealed on the inside LEGO set from 1998 for £2.99!

Unfortunately Hasbro don’t seem to actually own Inhumanoids (they tried to bring them back during the IDW crossover event and had to scrap it) - or at least they think they don’t - as the initial concept was developed by an outside agency. So they remaining trapped at the centre of the Earth 😔

More Sky Lynx! Because when you’re as stupendously perfect as Sky Lynx 4 pictures just isn’t enough. There is a vague hint of some humanity left in Black in “Manhunt”when he spares Symphony. It’s open to interpretation whether or not he spared her a lethal dose of radiation simply to use her as a diversion but a lethal dose would have achieved the same thing so maybe Conrad is still in there.

The transformation on the Missing Link really does put all the CHUG Arcees (and even the Masterpiece) to shame. Minimal flat backpack and no cheating. Very impressive.

Transformers Wheel Blaze & Roadburner! Their cherry picker & lurid neon yellow deco make them stand out amongst the crowd of laddery red TF fire trucks. Not sure how much rescuing they’ll be doing as tiny Micromasters, mind. They have really nice sculpted details, sirens & hoses aplenty

Did you know Inhumanoids are the same scale (& set in the same universe) as GI Joe? The Earth Corps environmental suits are powered armour & within they are Joe-scale. Not sure why Hasbro didn’t make more of this especially as it makes the big 3 Inhumanoids even more impressive #vintagetoytuesday

The Inhumanoids toys Metlar, Herc Armstrong and a Granite and Redwood chill out with two random GI Joes to show off their sizes

The Joes are startled by their new companions but fear not, they’re friendly! (Yes, even the Granite and Redwood)

Herc takes his helmet off to show that underneath his giant Environmental Suit he has the same sized noggin as the Joes (not being funny but you can tell that Herc is a scientist and the Joes are soldier boys)

This guy however is NOT friendly - Metlar captures a flesh slug! I think Inhumanoids should have had a plain human size class to both make the line more accessible with an entry-level price point and make the kaiju-sized Inhumanoids more impressive

Transformers G1 Sky Lynx! Absolutely nothing else like him & he wouldn’t have it any other way. Brilliantly inventive, wonderfully weird & incredibly fun. Motorised too!

Transformers G1 Sky Lynx cruising in his “Dino-Bird” mode. Never been entirely sure if it is meant to be a pterosaur or an archaeopteryx thing but whatever it is Sky Lynx would like me to assure you that he is DEFINITELY *NOT* a Dinobot. He cannot emphasise this point enough

Sky Lynx lording it over the beings of the universe who are inferior to him (so all of them, basically) in his Lynx mode. The lynx doesn’t have painted eyes (at least not the original, the reissue gains them) but they often catch the light in way that makes them appear distinct which is clever

Sky Lynx in his “super robot” form. Whilst not identified as a dragon in his instructions it clearly is one, and a rather magnificent one at that

Still annoyed that they didn’t retool Titans Return Black Shadow into Thunderwing. *So* close to a huge & awesome Leader class Thunderwing that could have gone toe-to-toe with TR Powermaster Prime. Ah well. Hopefully Hasbro will do him justice in a nice big size class soon.

Fingers crossed. I really like that they kept Arcee looking like the early model with her shoulder pads on the front, really helps her blend in with the rest of the early-looking toys.

Transformers Oiler & Slide! These rather rude-sounding bots were absolute pyromaniacs in my games, dumping oil over Decepticons then setting them on fire with Oiler’s sweet smokestack guns. Luckily they were in a unit with a fire truck who cleaned up their messes. They look fantastic in both modes

Transformers Micromaster Combiner Metro Squad Oiler and Slide - a really swish blue and white oil tanker truck

The distinctive robot modes. Oiler has a cool chest and those smokestack guns are the best. Slide is wonderfully burly and looks like he could do some real damage with those arms

Oiler takes exception to Greasepit’s gas prices

Roadhugger gets oiled up and slid! Slide has a peg where the oil is spraying from which I would have him “poo” oil from, the blast effect making my childhood imagine real!
