Unusual 80s & 90s toys. Usual Transformers of all eras. Sharing pictures of my ridiculously huge toy collection & thoughts from my ridiculously tiny brain. Relive your childhood through the eyes of someone who never really left his…
Well, he’s more handcuffed to the dragon (which invites the further question “why is Skeletor chaining a dangerous creature that isn’t 100% under control right next to his head?”)

Aw, that’s a shame about T.K. Carter. He was also the voice of Rocksteady in the Transformers episode “Auto Bop” - the Bop Crew has a lot less juice tonight 😞

Masters of the Universe Rio Blast! More pew-pew than a 100 skunks, more “draw!” than Jack Kirby’s desk & a head so 70s it hurts more than a salvo from his many, many guns. Some folk might think he belongs on New Texas more than Eternia but I can only conclude that they hate fun

Great episode and the source of one of the bleakest bits of canon continuitywank in Trek as apparently an elderly Hoshi Sato and her entire family were amongst Kodos’ victims.

Masters of the Universe Fright Zone! More diorama than base the trap-filled stronghold of terror is awesome but doesn’t quite hit Grayskull/SM fun level. The rock & tree monsters could do with evil faces to sell that they are monsters (hello Origins). My perfect puppet feels like a ticking time bomb

Masters of the Universe Screech! Beautiful barbarian bird! Was a bit miffed that the rocket pack & stand were the same colour as Zoar’s (wish Zoar’s were green) though as I tended to leave Zoar’s harness off the extra techie bits helped to sell Screech as a robot which is what Filmation said he was

Masters of the Universe Zoar! As a kid I mashed up the early minicomic and Filmation identities of Zoar in my games, making him a separate being capable of speech who acted as The Sorceress’ familiar and bomb-toting enforcer rather than her disguise. This was much more more fun 💥

Masters of the Universe Dragon Blaster Skeletor! A baby dragon backpack is a demented idea but it works. Great fun though wish the dragon was removable. The Hong Kong variant has a “tab” Power Sword (normally He-Man’s half) which you can use to make a whole purple blade with a standard slot sword

Masters of the Universe Thunder Punch He-Man! Never my favourite He-Man design though I’ve reevaluated him in recent years and have grown to appreciate him more. His armour is very handsome, gimmick works well and I like the storage options for a cap ring and sword on his shield

Amazingly so!

A few days late but welcome to January via The Kenner Real Ghostbusters pack-in poster calendar! (hopefully an accurate picture as it is forecast to snow here later 🤞🤞🤞)

I think the Slime Pit is coming this year

Masters of the Universe Battle Bones! All aboard the dragon bone bus to hell! Mattel really were shitting out ideas of solid gold at this point. Line needs a figure carry case? Make it a giant dragon skeleton that holds warriors in the rib bones & carries their gear in the mouth. Amazing

Masters of the Universe Modulok - Evil beast of a thousand bodies! With a wonderfully creepy pulp sci-fi monster look and an incredibly fun gimmick Modulok is an all-time great
January 3, 2026 at 8:00 PM
Masters of the Universe Mantenna! I thought he was a monster koala (& the black thing on his face was a nose 🐨) until I saw Secret of the Sword & realised he’s a bug. I was very young! Still can’t see it as a mouth. The fake 4 legs was a nice idea but didn’t really work, especially next to Modulok
January 2, 2026 at 6:00 PM
Along with Mantenna and Grizzlor. Think those three were issued as standard to every kid in the 80s
January 1, 2026 at 9:51 PM
Masters of the Universe Leech! Got this loathsome lamprey one Christmas & spent a large part of Christmas Day sticking him to my goldfish bowl (George & Samantha weren’t quite as intimidated as poor Man-E-Faces). Loved his bulk, he was a real tank in my battles
January 1, 2026 at 6:00 PM
I think the implication was that he used to be a magician but switched to a technology-based approach later.

Masters of the Universe Grizzlor! The Legend Comes Alive! I was greatly inspired by his Minicomic, which painted him as an unstoppable cryptid, rather than the generic goon he was elsewhere. My main childhood one (I had two) looks a bit grungy/spiky, suits him more than a less used bouffant style
December 31, 2025 at 9:00 PM
Last Transformer of the year arrived today - Age of the Primes Alpha Trion! Really nice though baffling that they didn’t give him wrist swivels given he needs them for pulling satisfying writing poses with his book. Interchangeable A3 & elderly longbeard Alpha Trion heads would have been nice too

Rik Alaraez says Hideaki Yoke still has the master tapes so hopefully they could get the clips from the source (assuming the tapes haven’t decayed)
December 30, 2025 at 9:20 PM
The publicity resulting from unearthing lost media of one of the greatest legends of cinema would be a big plus. Hopefully it would go some way towards offsetting having to iron out any complications regarding the usage rights for the clips (don’t imagine the original contract would be easy to find)

Snarling like a wild boar… 😉

If it happens (which feels increasingly likely) they NEED to dig out the specially recorded Orson Welles voice clips for it. Rik Alvarez once said on Twitter that the recordings still exist in the Takara archives
