Masters of the Universe Buzzsaw Hordak! A figure that dares to ask the question - “what if Hordak got a bit porky & started firing power tools from his gut?” (so brave). The saw shooter is fun though a he’s a bit samey as an upgrade, only the belt & gut different from original. Very scarce in the UK

Masters of the Universe Gwildor! Looks uncommonly like my grandma. As a kid I clocked him as a cheapo Orko substitute & took a dislike to him, unfairly as he’s actually a lot of fun in the film & I like him now. Figure is nice & adds a bit of line variety even if his Cosmic Key is a bit crap. Moo?

… in a bit of cross-line parts sharing Blast-Attak’s cord is *nearly* the same as the safe detonator cord from Fort Kerium’s bank though Blast-Attak’s central pusher pin is fatter. The cords are interchangeable though Fort Kerium’s thinner pin doesn’t work well with Blast-Attak’s trigger

Managed to build a decent swarm of them (along with movie Insecticon) thanks to various clearance blowouts at the time. So much later Prime and HftD stuff was basically given away.

Masters of the Universe Blast-Attak! A confused chap- card says he’s an Evil Warrior, Minicomic says Snakeman, in some stories he blows himself up whilst others have him spitting in two to fight - no wonder he explodes! 🤯 Some copies actually explode thanks to Gold Plastic Syndrome (depends on mix)

Masters of the Universe Mantisaur! Hordak got a killer steed (quite literally by the looks of it) which made up for The Horde’s lack of vehicles. Feels very deluxe compared to Battlecat/Panthor with moving parts though obviously nowhere near as iconic. As noted I love the similarity to Mosquitor

Masters of the Universe Mantisaur! Hordak got a killer steed (quite literally by the looks of it) which made up for The Horde’s lack of vehicles. Feels very deluxe compared to Battlecat/Panthor with moving parts though obviously nowhere near as iconic. As noted I love the similarity to Mosquitor
My shower is now very kindly showering downstairs (very kind but I only wanted to clean me, not the living room) so looks like I won’t be buying any toys for a while. Sigh.

Masters of the Universe Mosquitor! One blood-drinking cyborg insectoid who doesn’t suck - he’s great! Has the same eyes as Mantisaur, makes it seem like they belong to the same order of cyborg insects. Wonder if he got told off for not having a Horde armband & crossbow? They were big on branding

Thought his headgear was a grey beard for many years. Gave mine the Classics energy whip-looks great!

Masters of the Universe King Randor! Rules in more ways than one. Like a lot of royalty has trouble recognising his kids as they were raised by someone else. Eventually got sick of skull-faced shenanigans, abdicated & moved to his wife’s home planet to open up a fast food chain

You can see the cockpit & wings of the toy on the feet of Nexus Prime’s boxart statue. I’d guess maybe he’s a Siege Refractor-style guy & multiple copies can make the main form. Though there doesn’t seem to be much of the toy in the rest of the artwork body so maybe there’s more parts of NP to come?

Masters of the Universe Clamp Champ! The largely recycled figures from the last wave make up for their heavy parts reuse by being particularly beautiful. The Champ’s blue, silver & red deco POPS. His eponymous clamp is a bit meh, the blades can’t grip or lock out so it usually looks like a techy box

Can’t say I’m too impressed by this new Trevor and Simon adaptation on Disney+. The new guys look nothing like them, they haven’t swung their pants once, and I’m pretty sure I saw a duvet in episode four (wildly inaccurate)

Masters of the Universe Rokkon! This younger, hipper Comet Warrior rocks - quite literally! His “light blazer” gun forms a thruster for flying as a comet (the tummy hole isn’t just storage, it’s a transformation element) a fantastic design element. Wish they’d made more Rock People as planned

Masters of the Universe Stonedar! I thought the Rock People were incredible as a kid & was surprised to find out that isn’t a popular view. Stonedar is particularly lovely with his aged crags & craters. Something a lot of folk miss is the gun makes a thruster for flying in comet form
