It's always funny seeing old white guys idolize John Wayne as the ultimate American Man, while my WW2 veteran grandpa fucking HATED him.

John Wayne made a movie about my grandpa's battalion, despite never serving during the war. Dads may love him, but grandpa always thought he was a cowardly bitch.

The parallels with my real life are not subtle AT ALL. It is practically a full-on hate letter to this person. It's also someone I continue to depend on for my livelihood.

What a fun problem to have. A potent emotional therapeutic work of art that is almost too spiteful to say.

I have a project I'm writing, more illustrated novel than comic, that I've been pouring a lot into and I think has a lot of promise.

Problem is, it's SO autobiographical, SO based on current and past life situations, it runs a very real risk of damaging my relationship with a family member forever

I don't have any in the works. None of my stuff has been picked up by a major publisher, and if it does, I will be too stubborn in my contract to retain creative control that virtually no company will be willing to sign the deal.

I used to dream that it'd be wonderful to make a comic or novel and see it adapted into a movie or show.

Now I have to cope with the very real possibility that we might finish making a whole movie or show, only to have it scrapped for a tax write-off and never be seen by anyone.

This is why, more and more, I just can't muster up any desire to be a success in the mainstream art world. They want AI to make "content" for people who don't care.

I care about my art, and I want to give it to an audience who cares.

There's a phenomenon in Bloodborne where enemies will sometimes die, then ragdoll and fall forward into your character's arms, staying there until you move.

I always thought it was oddly sad when it happens.

I've tweaked all the settings there are to tweak, but wow the grass pop-in and bad foliage loading is wild on the ps5 disc.
Back to my ps4 disc I guess?!

I've been playing ps4 Elden Ring since it came out, and now that I have a ps5, I figured I'd get a ps5 disc and just have 10 extra character slots. Right?

I was not aware of the ongoing issue of grass pop-in on the ps5 version. Holy crap it's annoying, I can't take it.
