10. Red cosplay: going with War, who is both relatively recent and also certainly the most red, from head to toe. (Photo - Leslie, Colorado 2024)
#costober
Cosplay of War from Good Omens. I'm wearing a red leather jacket with scalemail shoulders, red gloves, red pants, red Chucks, and have a red and ginger faux-hawk hairstyle. Oh, and red eye makeup. Posing in front of a rocky cliff in the Rockies.

9. My least comfortable cosplay: it's always the shoes which cause me the most discomfort, so I'm giving this one to Plague Doctor, who not only wears heels, but also has limited vision and air-flow, and I don't love the backless dress on my post-pandemic body.

Plague Doctor from Darkest Dungeon cosplay. I'm in a forest, reaching towards the camera and wielding a dagger. I'm completely covered and unidentifiable.

8. My most comfortable cosplay: Chell from Portal 2. No wig, normal clothes, lots of pockets; what more could you ask for?

(and with that, I'm all caught up! Should be just one per day from now on)

7. My less-known cosplay. A relatively easy pick, since few people know Costume Quest, the Space Warrior design isn't recognizable/distinctive, and to top it all off, I never even wore it to a con!

#costober
Cosplay of "Space Warrior" from the game Costume Quest. In the game, player characters are children who collect materials to make Halloween costumes, so everything here is that vibe (toy light saber, helmet made from a plastic bowl, and rocket pack made from pop bottles). I'm also wearing rubber gloves and bootie-slippers along with white sweats to complete the look.

They never did release that sequel, did they?

6. My least expensive cosplay: Bloody Mary from The Wolf Among Us. I was going to say this was a "but nothing" costume, but then I remembered I got the red streak for the wig from a dollar store, so there's that LOL

5. My most expensive cosplay: Rosalina as designed by @dessidesu.bsky.social
I don't track the exact costs of my costumes, but I'm sure that between the amount of materials used and buying them on a deadline, it's bound to be the most expensive

Cosplay of Rosalina from the Mario Galaxy games, but an original design in a teal-green, with long layered skirts lined in a celestial print, drapey sleeves and cape, applique stars all over the bodice in holo silver and teal, silver crown surrounded by tiny cabochon stars.

4. A casual-outfit cosplay: I had a bunch of options, but probably the most casual is my Avengers! Pepper Potts (photo: Rob Olsen, TriCon 2014)

Cosplay of Pepper Potts from the Avengers movie; wearing a white blouse and denim shorts, posing with a "Stark pad" clipboard

3. My first cosplay ever: all the materials for Rabi En Rose came from the thrift store, and the fantastic experience wearing her to Anime North in 2005 set a high bar for future events

2. My favourite cosplay: sometimes choosing a favourite child is easy. Midna. It's Midna.

Cosplay of "Imp Midna" from the Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess, sitting on a hotel display with bamboo and plants in the background

1. My most iconic cosplay: a bit of a troll but also, like, what could be more iconic than my home-made sloth kigu (from before they were selling good ones)
#costober (Cosplay for a Cure, 2013)
Photo from Cosplay for a Cure at ConBravo (2013). I'm wearing a grey three-toed sloth onesie with claws up and the hood pulled down so you can see the sloth face on the hood, but not my own face.

In an attempt to remind myself to post more often; I'm gonna do #costober using CosplayTeaRoom's prompt list

Crap, I was so intent on remembering to actually post, not only did I miss a typo, I also made the egregious error of not tagging @danvideoninja.bsky.social

I'm only going to be at Fan Expo Canada one day (Saturday) so I figured that Helly R. is the most appropriate choice for a con that takes place mostly underground 😁. It's been many years since I was last at FanEx so I hope that I can do y all in one day!

Wearing my Helly R cosplay from Severance, standing in an open elevator. Mark S. (Adam Scott) Can be seen in a reflection behind me. Wearing my Helly R cosplay from Severance, sprawled face-down on a large wooden table surrounded by chairs; reminiscent of Helly's introduction in the show.

I'm back at work on Izutsumi, so maybe I'll have the canon design done by the next con. At Anime North, I just had the wig/ears and tail ready, so that's what I wore with my Spirited Away bathhouse uniform for masq staffing. I think it's a pretty cute combo!

Who me? Excited for a new Katamari game? You don't say...

Cosplay: Mag; We ❤️Katamari

Me in my Katamari Cousin Mag costume, peering out from behind a tree with one hand approximately where a mouth might be on the head. The faceplate does not have a face, just pixelated pac-man and cherry icons.
