I said this to a friend just today: Antifa is not a real thing, so they can define it however they want. Everyone needs to stop saying it altogether - say anti fascist, and make them say it, too.

I felt similarly when I read Little House in the Big Woods to my 6 yo vegetarian. This is how we slaughter the deer and hang it in the tree to drain. This is how we turn the pig's innards into toys. This is how we salt the bacon and dry the jerky.

(Also, maybe soccer moms in Oregon are just a different breed, but all the ones I know would proudly proclaim their antifascism from the rooftops.)

I think that proposing at the gym is fine. I think the whole "make a big deal out recording the proposal" trend is asinine. More importantly, my husband knew I didn't care about that crap. This guy, clearly, did not know what she cared about. And a good friend will (and did) set him straight.
