some characters aren't even specific insects. some aren't even "bugs". at no point does the writing ever really try to explain this, and it's awesome.

i really really like hollow knight & silksong's approach to anthropomorphic characters.
every character is a "bug" - that's it. most are clearly based on specific real world arthropods, (beetle, mantis, bee, spider, etc.) but there's rarely any written distinction between them.
