The malnutrition and disease killed millions.”
THEY ARE BUYING UP WAREHOUSES TO HOLD HUMAN BEINGS IN DETENTION INDEFINITELY.

I feel crazy at how everyone is acting like this is normal. These are concentration camps being built right before our eyes. These buildings are not meant to house human beings. People will be caged like cattle and die.

Foreign tourism to the U.S. fell 5.4% in 2025 while the rest of the world saw a 4% increase.

Canadian visits dropped nearly 30%. buff.ly/MSynHSJ
Will a ‘Trump slump’ continue to hit US tourism in 2026 − and even keep World Cup fans away?
Talk of boycotts have added to fears among the US tourism industry that foreign tourists will continue to stay away.

Canada has stood with America when we were at our lowest, has fought and died in wars alongside us, has done everything a nation could to help and be amicable with another. And now America has gratuitously stabbed Canada in the back, and continues to do so. Things can never be the same again.
With Friends Like These
To defend itself from Trump's thuggery, Canada must seek new friends.

And perhaps Canada learns it has some leverage to stand up to it and courage to go anther way with other people
America is learning the hard way that "we make a lot of money together, you benefit from trade with us" does not actually equal "we own you and you must be subservient," and that countries will forgo some money to preserve sovereignty.

Today's corrupt, self-interested US leaders don't get that.
Greer: "The thing to keep in mind with Canada is this is a country that's 75% dependent on the United States for its gross domestic product ... it can't be a situation where the Canadians have an antagonistic relationship"

“There's a question as to the proceeds of tolls."

This is just a straight up shakedown for payments.

There are no deals to be had with people like this; they will only be broken and leveraged into the next attempt at extortion.
Trade Representative Jamieson Greer on Trump's bonkers US-Canada bridge tantrum: "There's a valid concern on the part of the president that this bridge was allowed to be built, they didn't necessarily use American content. There's a question as to the proceeds of tolls."

I keep coming back to Miller's formulation of sovereignty: "to control a territory you have to be able to defend a territory, improve a territory, inhabit a territory."

Think of how few states actually meet that definition, and how alarmed the rest will be to learn this is the US govt's position.

You should be advocating ABOLISHING ICE and jailing everyone complicit in its illegal activities you useless fuck.
Democrats want commonsense reform for ICE:

End the roving patrols and racial profiling.

Take accountability and abide by the same rules as local police.

Masks need to come off, body cameras need to stay on—no secret police in the United States of America.
