I did a lil' music and sfx for the Global Game Jam 2026! With the coolest teammates and project! The inspiration was: black-and-white pixel art, kinda dark/grim/gothic/ominous - so of course some 8-bit VSTs and harmonic minor scales were in order. Check it out below 🫡

The theme was "mask". In our game, you have to get your character to the goal of each level by making them wear the mask of a chess piece to change the way they move. You can also put masks on the enemy pieces!

(Movement speed is supposed to be faster, something's not working with the recorder)

This is "Echec & Masque" ("Checkmask"), the game we made last weekend during the Global Game Jam. We chose to do a puzzle tactical version of chess, with black and white pixel art graphics. Very fun game to work on and I'm very proud of the result!

The theme of the #globalgamejam was "Mask." We created a tactical puzzle where the goal is to drag and drop the mask of a chess piece onto your character to retrieve its patterns.
We're pretty proud of the result.
