There is a concerning amount of Neo-Nazi's present on TwitterX right now and I understand a certain demographic is making their move here but TwitterX may inadvertently become an echo chamber and strengthen their numbers. I'm doing what I can to actively rage against this.
I'm not going to waste my time building bridges with people I know don't want that (which is why I bully the Twitter Nazi's and disrupt their spaces!) But I want to put the effort into reaching out rather than adding to the violence, if I can help it. I know myself well enough to know my place.
I'm already doing a lot more than you realize. Maybe not to the level that you'd be satisfied with but I understand my place and know where I'm most useful. Now, I'm willing to hear more about what I can do to fight this fascism and make the necessary changes myself, but that's all I can offer now.
You can't just expect most people to reprioritize their lives and routines to pursue these causes, as ideal as it would be. Realistically, most people don't care about anything until it affects them. I figure the best I can do is make a space to have these difficult conversations and have patience.
You know what? Granted. I know that violence is an inevitable reality but I don't want to contribute to moving in that direction. Personally, I'd much rather do the hard work of building bridges and mending the fractures. I just hate the idea of being in a position where I might have to take a life.
Weekday protests are a good suggestion but, realistically, there aren't a lot of people who can dedicate that kind of time due to their personal obligations. How would any of the others listed be feasible? Or, at least, how would we be able to do any of these on a more local level?
The Civil Rights Movement had violence but it was mostly peaceful.
And what about the Non-Cooperation movement in 1920 and the Salt March in India in 1930? Or the Velvet Revolution in 1989? Or the Rose Revolution in the country of Georgia, 2003?
Or the Orange Revolution?
The Carnation Revolution?
I believe...
In diplomacy.
That words are more meaningful than violence.
That people can change for the better.

BUT..

Do I believe diplomacy is the only way? No.
Do I believe that violence can be inevitable? Yes
Do people never change for the better?
Some do, and they're the ones worth living for!
And who would be the prime target for the violence?
Ok, is killing someone off the table, at least?
Interesting. What would you propose would be a more effective strategy?
You're missing the point. This was, and is still, an opportunity to form meaningful relationships with those that can still be reached.
Is it gonna work on everyone? No.
Would it work for some people that could bring awareness? I'd like to believe so.
Uh-uh. No, we shouldn't allow violence to be set as a precedent here. There is no reason to celebrate this. And since you have a cross as your pro-pic, I assume that you're a Christian and I implore you to pray for him.
I know it's tempting to kick him while he's down but we have an opportunity to build some bridges with this.
I think we can all agree that we don't want violences set as a precedent.
Today is the day when Anne Frank and the 7 people who were hidden away in the attic from the Nazi's and boarded the train to Auschwitz.
It's a shame that many on TwitterX want to cast illegitimate doubt on this history and twist it into something vile. Here is the truth

The final transport from Westerbork to Auschwitz
On 3 September 1944, 75 years ago today, Anne Frank and the seven others who had been living in hiding in the Secret Annex were put on a transport to Auschwitz. Along with over a thousand other Jewish prisoners.

Bro, it ain't that deep!
Fight for your place in the world but don't think for a second that it belongs to you. You belong to it.
I do not belong to the Church, but I welcome Pope Leo XIV as one who watches the sacred currents of the world. May his path be guided by justice, humility, and courage.
Neo-Nazi's are too fragile to handle ambiguity!
Hate speech is free speech used irresponsibly. One way to combat hate speech is to hold the speaker accountable for their words and have them own what they say. A lot of the time, they're too cowardly to do so.
How deeply do you have to despise yourself to make it your career to lie for Trump?
Trump administration says that they're battling against antisemitism yet Twitter is still up
How do you know when a Nazi is lying?
They open their mouths
