Come out this weekend and get out the vote for Jon, one of our endorsed candidates for city council at large!

I still do most of the door knocking myself, because talking directly with neighbors is one of the best parts of this campaign. But over the long weekend, I could use some help getting the word out. If you’re interested in joining me (or know someone who might be), sign up here!

Single-stair reform would be a huge win for building abundant homes in MA, and especially for allowing more family-friendly homes to be built!

The sheer volume of Massachusetts' regulations for building new housing can drive up the costs in significant ways. For example, the requirement for two stairwells along with other fire safety regulations can add 15-25% to the cost of a project. @bostonglobe.com

Roll back regulations to lower housing costs - The Boston Globe
The sheer volume of Massachusetts’ regulations can drive up the total cost of construction in significant ways. But some rules are no longer necessary.

And now everything is (unofficially) counted for the preliminary here in Somerville. Some 100 votes remain to be hand counted, election officials say. Jake Willson seems to have 42 percent of the mayoral vote. #Somerville

Indeed! If we include even just the most rapid bus routes, our map gets even more excellent.

Thanks for pointing that out 🫡

Because of where our larger vs smaller parcels are, that happens mostly on its own!

We’ve some more analyses & maps that demonstrate where we’d see larger vs smaller buildings, and we’re going to share more of these throughout the remainder of the year.

It does not! The @cityofsomerville.bsky.social’s official transit areas only count train stations, so we based our own analyses & policy making on that same concept.

You’re very right that many of our buses are as good or better service than our trains!

Catie Gould and Kate Brunette Kreuzer were on the frontlines of two of the biggest state pro-housing wins in the country so far.

They built meaningful connections with coalition partners and leveraged hard-earned expertise from prior years to get it done in the Evergreen State.

Excited to canvass for @willieburnleyjr.bsky.social after the @bostondsa.org General Meeting tomorrow!

I’ve organized with Willie since his 1st campaign.

From ending forced brokers’ fees to curtailing surveillance tech, he’s been a partner.

And he’ll be a great Somerville Mayor.

Prelim is 9/16!
