My wife, a doctor who cares for pregnant women, has a new challenge. Some women are now taking NSAIDs like ibuprofen because of this road-kill eating knucklehead. NSAIDs are unsafe for pregnant women, especially during the later stages of pregnancy.

RFK is a huge danger to public health.

Besides linking Tylenol in pregnant women to autism, RFK Jr. now says circumcision is part of the reason why kids are autistic.

"Children who are circumcised early have double the rate of autism, and it's highly likely because they're given Tylenol. None of this is positive..."

It is pretty galling that the Supreme Court spent four years telling Biden "you can't do that without Congress" then allowed Trump to seize a once-unthinkable amount of power from Congress within nine months and concentrate law-making authority almost entirely in the executive branch.

🚨BREAKING: The Republican Party’s top mapmaker testified in federal court Wednesday that while he’s been instructed in the past to preserve minority congressional districts protected by the Voting Rights Act, he received no such direction when drawing Texas’ new gerrymander this summer.

We’ve known for a while now that Fetterman is no longer an ally. He has no backbone and no principles. Not going to speculate why, but he needs to be voted out.

Trump has been illegally bombing boats off the coast of Venezuela.

Tim Kaine and Adam Schiff forced a vote on reasserting Congress's role over war powers and ending this reckless
warmongering.

It failed 48-51.

Murkowski and Paul voted yes.

Fetterman voted no.

NEW: ProPublica obtained records from the Department of Agriculture that detail the millions of pounds of food, down to the number of eggs, that never reached food banks because of the Trump administration’s cuts to an aid program.

Proud to announce I've been endorsed by the UAW—my union while I was a grad student teacher at UMass Amherst where I taught while I studied. The UAW fought to get us good pay and health benefits. It's such a joy to help advocate for their work supporting working families.

I still do most of the door knocking myself, because talking directly with neighbors is one of the best parts of this campaign. But over the long weekend, I could use some help getting the word out. If you’re interested in joining me (or know someone who might be), sign up here!

At the ward 5 community meeting last night the opening of Junction Park came up.

Like many, I’m eager to enjoy it. The pause in work came from needing to remove contaminated soil (and getting the state permit the city needed to do that).

The hope is it opens in a month or two

Absolutely cannot happen. Public education is such an essential part of government.

Correct! This would be from Dunkin Donuts to Buk Kyung (the Korean restaurant).

I like housing. Commercial is important too if we ever want, as a city, to see our tax revenue shift from deep dependence on residential to a more even mix. I’ll be watching this one closely, and I see how the proposal evolves.
jonlink.bsky.social
The idea was all very nebulous. They’ll need to get the zoning changed from commercial to mixed use. The USNC has concerns about how this would impact the US2 CBA… which from my understanding hasn’t been followed very closely already.

Last night at the Union Square Neighborhood Council meeting, there was an interesting update on The Hamilton Co’s proposal from a few years ago. Their lab idea is dead (shocking, I know).

The new idea is mixed-use residential with a park and potential library in Union Sq.

This poor man was arrested abducted simply because he was not white. He was in an impossible situation.

Until ICE is abolished we have to look out for our neighbors in our community.

As others have said, it’s a losing strategy to “politically moderate” on folks’ humanity. The people who want this are a rounding error.

Stand up for people, be principled, call out fascists for what they are, and be a leader that we need in these dark times.

1. 4 months ago, The Supreme Court gave families a right to opt out of LGBTQ+ education in schools.

Now, in Montgomery County, Maryland, where the case originated, the results are in.

Only 43 families out of 160,000 students have exercised that new right.

Just as a reminder, Bondi’s origin story in Trump world is that she said she was going to investigate Trump University, Trump sent her a $25K check and the investigation disappeared. She later became Trump’s personal defense lawyer. So yeah, don’t challenge her integrity.

Offsets can't cut carbon *even in theory*

The whole point of offsets is to create permission to *not* cut carbon.

So when they don't even live up to their own standard, they are so much worse.

In Somerville, with our neighborhood schools, we have parents and small children walking around our city every day right in the middle of people cutting through the city to get to work.

Safe routes to school and safe streets around senior centers are imperative.

I thankful for the work Somerville has done to increase road safety. Articles like this remind me what's at stake. The elderly are the most at risk of being hurt of killed on our streets. Traffic calming and bike lanes dramatically reduce crashes for _all_ road users.

There is widespread support in Russia for Vladimir Putin, even after he impoverished the country and fed Russian teens into a war woodchipper.

Why? Because he took over the media in Russia and uses it to deceive people. That’s what’s happening here too with Ellison and Bari Weiss.
