Great question which I will QT here.

It's accessible from the endgame. It will be triggered by entering your airship at a certain level. The scenario will start and you can go do it whenever you'd like!
Hell yeah, that sounds awesome. Will it be accessible from the endgame or is it woven into the story and requires a second playthrough?

Quartet is a brilliant JRPG. Better written than all the other non-Japanese JRPGs, and with Respectful Classical Turn-based game design. A lot of people don't even deserve it, but I ate that game with chopsticks as a kaiseki 16-course dinner.
Literally every single person I have recommended Quartet to has been like "what is that?"

Even my fellow JRPG Sickos have not had this game even remotely on their radar??? I was seeing tons of coverage about it when it came out????? What is happening?!!!!!!

Anyway play Quartet.

Best new RPG I played in 2025, no hyperbole!

Clean, thoughtful experience that keeps the plot moving and the characters each pulling their own weight in battle!

One of the few games I feel accomplished everything it set out to do

Trying to fix the final issues with our Switch port. Newest build has some weird issues.

Be honest, who hasn't done it?

Still time to pick up the game 20% off before the Winter Sale ends!
2025 was a big year for us: "Quartet" received great enthusiasm and feedback.

In addition, our friends Shrine's Legacy and Geo Mythica released their excellent games as well.

2026 is going to the year we get to consoles and launch our newest free expansion

Happy New Years!

is a JRPG on the more serious side with great character dynamics and more adult themes. The real reason why you want to play it is actually the writing. If you like Final Fantasy 6 or Octopath you might enjoy this one.

Best storytelling

KCD2 has excellent writing in both main and side quests, winning this category.

Quartet got some of the best writing I've seen in an indie retro-inspired RPG, and Clair Obscur had a more ambitious story, but also more flaws in its narrative, ending 3rd.

Since I'm apparently perceived as a bot at times, I've decided to start a Substack to expand on my opinions when the time is right. New year, time to try new things. Even so, I'll still be doing my usual stuff haha

Making a very late appearance in my games-of-2025 is Quartet, an RPG heavily influenced by the best 16-bit games -- I'm only about six hours in so far, but the story, graphics, music, combat systems all feel very strong.
