Definitely sad to hear. I have a lot of affection for FC and had kinda mixed feelings about this remake existing at all, but if it had to be made, I would have liked it to be definitive enough to be worthwhile. By all accounts it succeeded in most respects, so it's a shame it has this one asterisk

When Gensai came out there was this immediate wave of "that's just Kenshin" and like, design-wise I see it, but like five minutes of screentime were enough to make her feel totally different in my mind. I can take or leave Takeuchi's designs but he's really good at mannerisms

I'm guessing word has spread that it's a fairly public forum that a lot of developers either leave alone or don't have the bandwidth to tend, so it's a good place to make a stink? But it's bad!

I have a real soft spot for kanji with the 雨 radical, like 雫, 零, 霜, 雪, 霧 - I think they're really pretty. Not 露 though, 露 is not a friend

Hachimyoujin touches on this idea in like three different ways, but the funniest is probably that one of the minor villains is an old martial artist resentful he spent the whole Bakumatsu period stuck guarding the emperor instead of making himself a legend cutting people down on the street

Really like the balance Silent Hill f has struck with the combat. It does have action game tools, and they're effective when they work, but they're deliberately kind of unreliable and hard to use, an illusion to make you blame yourself when the encounters wear you down

It's incredibly shocking. I don't think he ever knew me, if he was aware of me at all it was probably just as part of the background noise of the internet, but he was a big inspiration to me and I respected him tremendously. I can't get my head around him just being gone

Absolutely devastated by this news. SpaceDrake was no doubt a huge influence in drumming up interest for Japanese indie games localized into English and pushing for them on digital distribution storefronts like steam. Huge loss. Might be time for another playthrough of Recettear in his honour.

I also wonder if I'd find it hard to be the only one talking. As a viewer I know I feel like I'm taking part in a dialogue even if I'm just listening, but as a streamer I think it might be tough to keep the conversation going and take it on trust that other people are there
