The key thing with Bad Bunny's performance though is that language is part of your identity. He doesn't want to be part of the US and doesn't want to speak their language.

Yeah I mean especially since BB's voice is not exactly musical in itself, you feel that the lyrics must be important to some degree. But still, people can actually find out what he's saying! Non-English speakers have been doing this their whole lives.
