My sickbay is a safe space for people of all species, races, genders, sizes, abilities, and anyone willing to behave kindly towards others. Mask up in your ongoing pandemic. Also remember to take your medicines, hydrate, and dress warmly on your alternate plane of existence.
Good friends who don't want to participate in intimate medical conversations exit politely and gracefully. Anyone who responds to a medical conversation with, "TMI!" is not your friend. You are allowed to talk openly about your conditions. 🖤💙😷🥄

You are worth good care and advocating for that for yourself should never be a risk to your care in any way. It's horrifying that the risk is there. 🖤💙😷🥄

Health care workers who blame patients for the worker's own negligence or mistakes shouldn't be allowed to continue in practice. I'd absolutely boot any staff out of my sickbay who pulled that. 🖤💙😷🥄

You don't have to declare a gender in my sickbay unless you feel it's relevant, your gender identity needn't be certain (it's okay to still be finding yourself!), and no gender-based harassment of any kind will be permitted for any reason. Sickbays should be safe spaces! 🖤💙😷🥄🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈

Your body size/shape/type/color/decorations/etc should have no bearing on the health care you receive. It is awful how many doctors in your era don't seem to understand this. 🖤💙😷🥄

Do lovely, fun, productive things with your day but if you have a chronic illness and/or disability that can lead to post-exertional malaise then please don't push yourself too hard. Take breaks, pace yourself, give yourself extra rewards from me. 🖤💙😷🥄🥄🥄🥄🥄

You're allowed to ignore unsolicited/ignorant medical advice, even from a doctor. If you go in to be seen about your injured finger and get a lecture about weight loss, you're allowed to ignore that because it's nonsense. 🖤💙😷🥄

There will always be people who tell you that you shouldn't eat or love or live in this or that way, and usually they're wrong, so you may as well eat and love and live the way that works for you and your health needs and ignore those people. 🖤💙😷🥄

If I could, I'd give each and every one of you a personal, therapeutic holodeck. One that doesn't allow safety protocols to be turned off or fail, doesn't accidentally generate uncontrollable new lifeforms, or threaten you in any way. Just a nice one to bring you peace. 🖤💙😷🥄

Bundle up against any inclement weather your area may be having and treat yourself to things that make you happy. You deserve comfort and joy. 🖤💙😷🥄☕️🛋️🛌🖖

Our combadges have an "unavailable" setting and I frequently have to remind crew to use it. Everyone needs downtime. It's not only okay for you to refuse to take calls or read social media when you need space, it's essential for your overall health. 🖤💙😷🥄

Hugs are always available in my sickbay for those who want them, especially for anyone who has been treated badly by other health care workers because of your race, weight, gender, sex, place of origin, etc. If you can get to my sickbay, I will shower you with kindness. 🖤💙😷🥄

It's impossible to "cheat" on a diet or be "guilty" of eating some foods or even to have "guilt-free" foods because food has no moral value. Eat food that works for you. Fed is best. 🖤💙😷🥄

You are allowed to refuse any social interaction that takes from you more than it gives, especially when it comes to your medical safety. Even major holidays. 🖤💙😷🥄
November 13, 2025 at 6:19 PM
You deserve nice things. 🖤💙😷🥄

Everyone's limits and needs are different. Stop beating yourself up because you have health issues that other people don't have or understand. I'm proud of you for whatever you were able to do today for your own needs, within your own limits. 🖤💙😷🥄
November 11, 2025 at 8:22 PM
Give yourself more breaks, more slack, more downtime. No, more than that. More still! 🖤💙😷🥄
November 10, 2025 at 7:18 PM
Remember to take your meds, hydrate, wear a sweater or sunscreen as needed, mask up in your still-ongoing pandemic, and give yourself a thorough stretch before starting your social justice march. Oh, and go to the toilet before you head out! 🖤💙😷🥄

Many of you have survived a lot of medical trauma to get to where you are today. You are stronger than you think. I'm sorry you're going through this but I respect you, appreciate you, and most of all I believe you. 🖤💙😷🥄
November 8, 2025 at 7:28 PM
I'm always extra proud of those of you who have kept masking throughout your ongoing pandemic without needing a rule to tell you to do it. You shouldn't need a mandate to care about yourself and others. If you stopped, start again today. 🖤💙😷😷😷😷😷🥄

Just because other people have suffered the same or worse pain doesn't mean your pain is any less for you. Your needs are valid too. 🖤💙😷🥄
November 6, 2025 at 7:20 PM
Expecting disabled/chronically ill people to legitimize ableism to make the abled/health-privileged more comfortable in their failure to keep vulnerable people safe is a form of gaslighting and abuse. 🖤💙😷😷😷😷😷🥄
November 5, 2025 at 6:50 PM
Be gentle with yourself today, doctor's orders. 🖤💙😷🥄
November 4, 2025 at 8:09 PM
May you experience the fluffiest, warmest, gentlest of comforts today. 🖤💙😷🥄🥰

If your "goal weight" requires you to starve yourself and/or push your body past pain thresholds with excessive exercise, that "goal weight" is neither a healthy nor a sustainable weight for you. Reject toxic diet culture. 🖤💙😷🥄
