This week in waxpacks, I got a few fun ones done. That Frankenstein artwork is an early contender for my next t-shirt design - it is so damn cool. Snowpocalypse weekend will probably mean plenty of drawing time under the electric blanket, so hopefully more coming soon.

I got this in a multi-pack of comics when I was a kid. I used to pore over this two-page spread, absolutely transfixed. I even copied some of the artwork and made up little stories about some of the ones I liked the most. It's still a really cool image!

Snowpocalypse Comfort Treat #2: Homemade Soft Caramels, Plain and Dark Chocolate Sea Salt
We made caramels for our Christmas cookie boxes, but ran out of time to cover them in chocolate, so we decided to try that tonight.

I mean, I couldn't not make homemade pizza. I forgot to split the dough into separate balls last night before the cold ferment, so they wound up a little wonky, but they still taste great. I found a NY-style dough recipe that might become my new go-to.

We found a great deal on some grass-fed beef at Fresh Thyme, put the burgers on soft, homemade buns still warm from the oven, fried the crinkle cuts in oil (something we rarely do) - perfection.
Now we're just waiting for the second wave of snow overnight...❄️❄️

I covered a Kojak album for When You Hear This Sound! Sadly, the scans of the read-along book aren't uploaded, but it's still a fun listen. The hard-edged stories of a NYC cop show was an odd choice for a kids' record, but the 70s were a different time:

Had a pretty nice little Marketplace score yesterday! The He-Man TV tray is a little rough...the Pac-Man lunch box doesn't have a thermos and has seen better days, but the price I paid for both from the same seller made it worth it.

Whew! Rough cut is done on the long overdue next episode of Bring the Noise: A History of Early Hip-Hop. I still have a lot of work to do, but putting together an hour+ of clips is the hard part. From here it's just trimming, refining, and intro/outro fades on music. I can see the finish line!

Whew! Rough cut is done on the long overdue next episode of Bring the Noise: A History of Early Hip-Hop. I still have a lot of work to do, but putting together an hour+ of clips is the hard part. From here it's just trimming, refining, and intro/outro fades on music. I can see the finish line!
