The deer in the southeast aren’t scared of anything. I’ve tried all sorts of repellents without any luck. The only valid predators here are people and coyotes to a much smaller degree.

The Trump admin nerfed the disadvantaged business program that has existed by law since 1983. Any related program must now be “ race/sex neutral”. The state programs tied to this seem to be moving to local business requirements from what I’ve seen so far.

They munch about half of my wildflowers in the front every year, but have never touched my fruit trees past a bit of rubbing. I was shocked at what they did at the community garden location just down the street.

You’ll probably win the award for more boulders than I’ve ever seen in a single hole today.

They killed a dozen fruit trees I planted this year. I had some out in my front yard that were barely bothered by the deer, but apparently not true at new location.

They ate potato plants!!! That’s hardcore. Even our resident groundhog won’t touch those.

I'm still working on this one, but it's looking good so far:
IC 1318, the Butterfly Nebula. The very bright star near the right edge is Sadr (Gamma Cygni), the star that marks the center of the cross in Cygnus the Swan.

9 hrs, #Seestar S50 🔭 from N. Atlanta suburbs
Siril, GraXpert, Starnet, GIMP 🧪🦋
A red glowing nebula seems to mimic the shape of two butterfly wings separated by a dark body in between. There is a very bright star near the right edge, and the nebula is highlighted against a black background dotted with stars.

It’s really the only way to go if you are getting rid of invasives in favor of natives in a non-forest environment.

Ran into these AMAZING Stapelia grandiflora in our conservatory today. The patterns, colors, hairs, and the smell - carrion mimic to perfection. #Stapelia #plantjoy #iamabotanist

4.5⭐️ Kill the Beast is a fantastic story about healing, grief, forgiveness, and friendship. The FMC is a boastful menace at times, but her character growth is that much more special. The adventure to forge a weapon to avenge the death of her brother 1/3 #booksky

Today in tough plants. The larger piece of this snake plant broke off in the spring. I just tossed it in the yard and subsequently ran over it with the lawnmower several times. Still managed to grow a whole new plant in the yard.
Very scraggly snake plant leaf with many cuts A whole new plant and leaf attached at the bottom of the scraggly leaf. It’s perfectly healthy.

GOOD NEWS! Researchers have developed a cancer vaccine that has shown STUNNING results, PREVENTING up to 88% of MULTIPLE aggressive cancers by harnessing dual-pathway nanoparticles that train the immune system to recognize and destroy tumor cells. In some cases, it COMPLETELY prevented metastasis.
