Their forefoot claws are excellent at sensing infrasound through the substrate. Indeed, some of their alarm systems are more like thumpers than terrestrial sirens.

Mother, the pilot, is particularly proud of the wings, crafted as they are from local wood over a hand (and beak) bent steel frame.

The psuedoraptor, an intelligent predator that generally lives in pairs and was able to survive the ecological collapse of the Fall.
Though they could kill an adult birrin, they are wise enough not to; in some cities they walk openly, thriving on urban pests and are much appreciated.
