The initial steps of a 3D engine for the ZX Spectrum Next!!!
Couldn't sleep last night, head full of ideas, so did a late coding session converting the clipLine routine from C to asm. There was a bug I couldn't fix, so slept on it and identified it straight away this morning. I can now start on clipping filled triangles now clipLine is in the asm domain.

Look at these numbers
0.5
0.19
0.123
0.1648
0.12345
0.747747
0.1234321
0.12345678
All are inaccurate on the standard ZX Spectrum.
For the true floating point form print the number with a divisor.
e.g.
12345/100000 has mantissa 7CD35A85 not 7CD35A84 as used in the Spectrum.
I fixed it for ya! 🙂

And don’t forget Gosh Wonderful as well as Looking Glass ROMs by the ever amazing @warmtoffee.bsky.social are included with each ZX Spectrum Next!
The Gosh Wonderful ZX Spectrum ROM V1.40 is available for download along with a useful BASIC program “peeker” that I use to peek under the hood. It uses 3 routines by Steve Vickers written for other Z80 computers back in the 80s.
They achieve total accuracy.

I’m reminded to check in every now and then, such as with this short interview 👇

It’s rocking in just shy of £1.5million as I type. Amaze! 🤩
