Oh my gosh, you guys! #iNaturalist posted one of my #Lichen pictures as their #PictureOfTheDay! Whaaaat?!? Shocked, honored. This is the devil’s matchstick lichen my kids and I found on a hike in the Cascade foothills.

There's no shortage of stunning lichens — like this Devil's matchstick (Pilophorus acicularis), which grows these tiny black-tipped stalks across rock surfaces.

The main dish is a red and chunky tofu stew filled with veggies, a metal bowl of rice to the left, and 4 bowls of kimchi varieties along the top. This was SO freaking tasty. Left no crumbs.

I’ve edited a cherry tree branch full of opened blossoms that had dew on them. It’s an altered negative image so the foggy background looks black. The branch looks pale pink, and the blossoms are purple with blue, glowing centers. I then used a tool to swirl the blurrier edges and pull and curl them. I am pleased with the results. I may enter this in my state fair’s “altered reality” division in photography later this year. We shall see.
