If I were writing AMS in peak-yaoi era of like 2007-2013 the main driving conflict would be ichigo getting a phone call on a cliffhanger which is revealed to be someone who had a thing for him in the past who wants to capitalize on his ""memory loss"" to try and get with him.

I wish Kubo had given different focus in Shinigami backstories because it always sits weird with me thinking of, say, Renji and Rukia 'growing up' together when theyre doing that in. well. the afterlife.
