It’s really wild that the people who worked on Highguard (SPECIFICALLY the Apex Legends vets) had absolutely no thought put into why Apex Legends did gangbusters and thought it was just gonna happen again with magic. This is C-Suite brain.
every new thing i hear about Highguard makes the project even more baffling. At first it seemed like an unfortunate independent attempt to recapture Apex' success that was sabotaged by geoff, but then the game came out and functionally did not work, people got laid off real quick and now this???

I am sympathetic to the HG devs but the person talking about how this was the downfall of an independent, dev-led studio trying to innovate where corporate studios don't anymore. While HG was functionally indistinguishable from a corporate AAA GaaS shooter in almost every way.

Marvel Tokon's Xmen picks look varied and I suppose I am happy it is out in August instead of November. But man the big 4v4 game only getting 20 characters base and 4 characters a year after is ROUGH. One "team" a year and no matter how they do it adding the Fantastic 4 is gonna feel kinda bad.

With Yakuza Kiwami 3 out today, I must remind everyone on top of everything regarding Hamazaki's actor, the game also removed a TON of sidequests, including a rather inclusive and progressive one surrounding a trans woman AND delisted the original off digital storefronts. Do not support.
