Friday's TGT celebrates Science's most famous daughter Marie Curie. The first woman to win a Nobel Prize, and one of only 5 people to win two. A relatively familiar story, but on this Remembrance Weekend we look at her war work - and her pioneering of medical physics.

Does anybody else seem to be curious as want to find out how AI would solve something - input a question into AI... and then spend the next 10 minutes trying to convince AI that you are correct and they are wrong.

Some people don't like being an EPQ supervisor due to extra meetings and marking etc.
Whereas, you get to talk about something you have a real interest in, discuss options and ideas and then get to read something as good as any popular science book you may have read!
The students benefit too!

Loads of wet wipes contain plastic & if they get flushed out with sewage and into rivers, they accumulate in horrible muddy mounds. I've been out on this "island" with Thames21 cleaning volunteers and it's great to hear that it's being removed.

Don't flush wet wipes!

August 8 is Global Sleep Under the Stars Night 😴 For Rubin scientists on Cerro Pachón, almost every night is spent under the stars! Rubin's sky is incredible because it has:

🌃 Little light pollution
⛰️ Less atmosphere
💦 Low humidity

Good luck trying to sleep with this view! ✨🔭🧪
