Hi! If you're reading this, my name is Erika. I am a lifelong #Cary #NC resident who is a dual citizen of the US and EU (half Hungarian). I was raised here by my Hungarian #immigrant grandma, Ildiko, who took pride in being a dual citizen as well. I want to share a little about me on this thread.

I attended a meeting via Zoom (thank you for that accessibility tool!) through Defend and Resist and hope to aid Siembra. I called into the hotline today for the first time, and it probably won't be the last. I'm willing to step up in Cary if nobody else will.
We’ve heard agents try to intimidate people, telling them that they’re not going anywhere. Well, neither are we. Because this is our home. And what you are seeing are hundreds of North Carolinians meeting this moment by helping ensure that everyone who calls this place home can live and work safely.

Today was day 5 of CBP’s operation in our state. And agents again did in Charlotte, Hickory, Lenoir, and Blowing Rock what they have been doing here and in other states where they have been deployed: Disrupting the lives of the people that live and work in our communities defendandrecruit.org/safenc

I would like to gently remind people who are organizing in the #RTP region and beyond for #protests against ICE to encourage people to mask up because the holidays are approaching, viruses like COVID, RSV, and flu spread fast, and it provides privacy + protects fellow protestors.

I know that my efforts may amount to nothing, but hey, attempting to forge connections is how I've gathered a lot of online friends through activism. I clung to Twitter as long as I could, but many of my friends died from their disabilities and the crackdown on DM limits killed it for me.

Federal immigration officers hauled away a construction worker in Cary, North Carolina. "About a half mile up the road, they looked at his wallet and saw he was a citizen," said his supervisor. "They pulled him out of the van and threw his wallet out the window. He had to walk back here." #ncpol

Hey #Cary - let's show up for #ICEWatch please. If you are in the area and are afraid to start networking, DM me. I'm open to meeting new folks with safety parameters and group up. We have to start somewhere. We need to support each other. In general, it would be nice to meet like-minded ppl.

Hey #Charlotte, you’re all gonna feel really helpless in the coming weeks as you see videos of ICE brutalizing your community.

One thing you can do to help is contact your local food pantry and see if they need drivers to make deliveries for those in need who are afraid to leave their homes.

If you're in the #Cary or #RTP area or the suburb adjoining towns of #Raleigh, maybe it would be beneficial to have a community gathering to know others? I would like to find like-minded people that give a shit about others.

It's great how every day of this war I have to explain to Americans that Eastern Europeans are not stupid and if they are asked to capitulate to Russia or die we will literally choose the rational option: death.

I'm well aware I need to watch what I say - which is why I leave a lot out. My experience with organizing protests may be handy - so again, #Cary residents, let's be vigilant. Let's document and be witnesses. Let us do more than hold signs on a corner. We need to document.

It should not be controversial to report and document kidnappings. This shouldn't be radical. It should be the base line for protecting your community.

Hey Raleigh folks, it looks like ICE has maybe gotten Apple Maps and Google Maps to remove the listing for their local operations center. If you want to write them a letter, here’s the address they don’t want you to see:

140 Centrewest Ct, Cary, NC 27513

we were asked what we would do back when we learned about the Holocaust during WWII and today I found out that I may be the only person around me willingly following and documenting the heinous actions and patrols against immigrants in my town

but AT LEAST I AM DOING IT

They are still heavily in #Cary as of today, 11/19. Spotted them off High House and Maynard heading toward the detention center they have off of Evans Rd. Please be vigilant and call it in to Siembra NC! I did.
ICE was heavily in Cary NC today. Cary NC! Cary makes safest places to live lists all the time. The idea that they're here because of crime is ludicrous. I mean we all know that, but still. Thanks ICE for terrorizing yet another community.

Don't stay silent - if you see ICE and CBP activity, call it in. I just called in about patrols in Cary.

Spotted an ICE vehicle in #Cary - reported to the #Siembra hotline. Please be aware of a black, full tint F-150 Lightning vehicle, NC plates starting with TX- (gave full info to hotline)
on intersection of High House and Maynard, heading toward Evans Rd about ten minutes ago 11/19/25 #LaMigra
