Like, for instance, I am barely able to make ends meet because of layoffs. I can't afford food, but I also can't access any mutual aid or food pantry places due to my chronic pain and disabilities. The closest place to me requires an extreme vetting process for one-time only assistance.

A lot of the time, I feel that protests in this area are inaccessible to folks like me with chronic pain and having a weakened immune system. There really isn't a lot of disability activism in this area anymore. People should mask again to make spaces accessible.

So, if you see me around town wearing a mask, it's because I'm highly immunocompromised. I have plenty to share if anyone would like to start masking again. It prevents transmission of viruses, gives you blockage against facial recognition, and it keeps your face warm in the winter.

Like yes, the republicans did pass a mask ban and kinda put a provision for medical exceptions, but we know damn well they will overlook anyone's disability to make an arrest happen. ICE agents wearing masks in NC is the least of our issues - plus counter surveillance should mask for safety.

It's better to start anew here because the dive into semantics on Twitter would really exhaust my ME (myalgic encephalomyelitis) and I burned out easily. I'm gonna try to avoid that here, but the anti-mask rhetoric people are trying to use to combat actions in NC is ableist and they don't know

I went viral quite a bit on my old account because I needed mutual aid to survive my abusive parents, leaving a couple abusive situations, and get medical help after a severe car accident. I managed to hold down a job until I got laid off last Christmas. My disabilities make finding another hard.
