Of course that an event meant to celebrate analog art specially ink and fountain pens having actual ink and fountain pen art be hidden under art not made in those mediums, and overwhelmingly by digital art was going to rub people (by far not only Jake Parker voiced his dislike) the wrong way.

Digital art has been for the last three dacades the industry standard. In 2009 deviantART and tumblr cycling discourse was the fact that digital art was far more likely to get likes and interactions. It was the "meme redraws" or "blob comics" discourse of its time. That context created Inktober.

Don't even participate or like Inktober but people love to find a moral reason for their lack of participation. "Jake Parker hates digital art" he's an industry person digital artist who created Inktober to popularize fountain pens. He was disappointed when the tag got full of non-fountain pen art.

Really frustrating to see the same false information spread every year. Guy trademarked his logo, not Inktober. He did it because he didn't want big brands to profit from it for free.
