I would love to hear fulltime freelance artists perspectives on it. But, even an artist friend I've known for years had to get a corporate job last year due to the instability it provided. And this was someone who got a decent amount of commissions and sold things at cons.

LRP: this is some very good food for thought. I adore art, but anytime I have to do freelance to survive (which is what I've been doing due to budget-cuts/lay-offs at my job) it's extremely discouraging and not viable. I'm not sure how anyone can fully survive on it, if I'm honest.

Anyway, we must build a world where all profession and people can take pride in their labor. We must not succumb to the belief in the myth of special individuals, and instead dedicate ourselves to a true love of creating things- seperating our the employment aspect and the creation aspect for good.

Someone needs to harvest crops, work in a factory, a power plant, in sewage, or move cargo etc. The thing i feel a lot of artists miss is that not all jobs have some kind of fulfilling individualistic quality to them, doing art exclusively as a job is a big ask, it has socio-economic implications

My heart goes out to you ;-; I have chronic migraines so I know how debilitating they can get...!
