i actually do think comic books count as american culture because nobody has any problems calling anime and manga "japanese culture". just because you don't like superheroes doesn't mean it isn't an art form with an interesting history considering it's more or less only a hundred years old

silksong is interesting because I think it's really really good but I also think it's absolutely earned it's slightly divisive reputation

there are a bunch of area and combat design choices that really have the vibe of 'this was built by developers who spent seven years gitting gud at their game'

I bought the comic Rogue Sun and said "I have some free time, I'll read the first volume" and read that volume in one night. I've been having a wonderful time with it.
This is also how I go about watching most movies. I just saw movies like Sinners, Novocaine, Us, and decided "That one" on a whim.
