I know many love it, but I hate, strong word I know, the movie Groundhog Day. It's probably my least favorite movie.

How is this real life? Everything that is up is down and down is up and we are supposed to continue going to work, cleaning the house, paying the bills like it's all normal.

The purest and brightest of stars among us burn out the fastest and the artificially illuminated stars seem to live forever.

My country is messed up to say the very least, but my team is heading to the Superbowl. These days you have to find joy and play that up in an attempt to balance with the darkest of times where you can.

There is something in the air. I can feel it, can you?

Please stay safe to everyone in the freezing weather and check on your neighbors, especially the elderly.

My heart is full. I got to head north this weekend to see my son at college. Next time I see him is in 9 weeks.

Does anyone still have weekends? I have two days that are different than the other five, but I still work those days, and the world continues to spin faster and faster out of control regardless of the day. Who's still doing weekends and what is your secret?

Not speaking about anything specific here. Innocent until proven guilty, or the presumption of innocence, is a great ideal that seems difficult to practice. I noticed during the OJ trial, I was still a kid, people picked a side fast. Then saw the pattern repeat looking back through history.

There is something that everyone can do but not everyone can do everything. Some do things that are showy and others work quietly and go largely unnoticed. Some need to rest and others seem to go on forever. No matter where you fall, you are doing great things.

So many circling thoughts. In the end I come to we must continue to believe, continue to hope, do anything we can every day to make something better for ourselves and others because when we lose that, ugly and evil wins.

Working on lesson plans in the morning and learning how to Facebook book ads in the afternoon. These are my days, and I feel very productive.

I just got the approval to teach two classes this spring at my local community college. Yippee!

Kids are headed back to school today and I had such high hopes for getting so much done until I woke up this morning. Self-care day it is. I'm so tired.

I don't care what the box says, a bag of popcorn is a single serving.

I just want to sip tea, read books, and talk about ideas, but apparently that is too much to ask for. Sigh

If you make resolutions, they don't have to be big or bold to make a difference. Small changes over longer periods of time have big impacts. Happy New Year!

If you occasionally wake up some mornings thinking, wow, I feel good today, that probably means you don't feel good most days. Even though that is our normal and we tend to just push through, it's not normal.

Mia is so sleepy. Night everyone.

Ever eat a plate of fries with a begging dog staring at you so you give her a couple and then decide she's had enough because it's likely too much grease and salt for her...then pause and realize you should say that to yourself?

2026 could already be doomed if you haven't worked to change your mindset. Things will happen as they always do, but how we react to those things could be the difference between a decent year and a sucky one.

I eat more pickled veggies, cheese, and processed meats at this time of the year than any other. So delicious but I think it contributes to my inability to care what day it is. It's all one big continuous party until that runs out.

I am sticky, but the cookies, candies, bars, and rolls (pumpkin) are made.

I think a significant driver of our own actions is whether or not we fear change.

Another windstorm today you say, cool-cool, just please keep the power on so I can bake my cookies for the cookie platters.
