Has some of the best long takes I’ve seen, yet it struggles to connect them together in a cohesive manner. I dug the atmosphere and sense of aimlessness when it came to these kids stuck at school, but sometimes it feels like deleted scenes got left in.

BLACK is a masterpiece, and The Lost One’s is a good follow-up. But apart from these other two at the bottom, the focus on droids and sequel bait feels hollow compared to Vol. 1s take on the Sith Jedi Binary.
(9 > 6 > 8 > 7 > 2 > 4 > 1 > 3 > 5)

Wish the replays diverged more drastically, but it shows how invested I was to get all 5 endings.
The way Ryukishi07 centered the horror on wedding blues, religious rites, and maternal trauma is something I'm gonna remember more than the tiresome combat.

What if the mooks in Monkey King's adventure had their own chance at enlightenment?
There's definitely cutlural context I missed, but it was a cute little flick that ended on a surprisingly bittersweet note.

Anime got a unique boost from the pandemic in that it was able to keep us spoiled for choice even in 2020. It didn't just survive the pandemic: it THRIVED!

Makima's biggest lie in Chainsaw Man is actually that this perfectly accessible tearjerker about a soldier reacquainting with civilian life amidst the war is some cryptic "you don't get it" cult film.

My mom was never gonna care for the action, but she was thoroughly impressed by Kensuke Ushio's grasp of different musical genres (she's a trained classical pianist).
As a fan of the action though, so much of the fights feel like watching a dance.

I'm not complaining though: they're releasing PEAK over there

There's a good 40 min chunk in the middle where I got swept up in its magic. But much like how the kids had to cover-up this robot’s glitches, the rest struggles to balance its musical whimsy, teen hang-ups, and discussion on mechanical sentience.

SUBLIIIIIIME!!! Had a blast watching this tonight. The quiet moments were done so well. Naturalistic drawings are just such a balm to my soul but they also go all out in those bonkers fight scenes. Kensuke Ushio's soundtrack is so achingly lovely!
