After believing things would change w/Ferguson & George Flold only to see America reset back to its white supremacsist default I don’t hold out hope this country can change but it seems new that middle-aged blue collar white guys are out in the streets pissed at what’s happening in their communities

Seconding the rec for fans of Yatagarasu- since it's a period mystery and urban fantasy show.
Right now I'd say "if you liked Yatagarasu, or The Apothecary Diaries' mysteries, or Raven of the Inner Palace, you should give Shabake a shot" both for the setting (Edo) and characters who aren't audience stand-ins since they know things they aren't telling the audience (yet).

For people outside Minneapolis: North is the historically Black part of the city. It's been heavily disinvested from, gutted by the 2008 mortgage crisis, and got hit by a tornado which did damage you can still see from aerial photos. It's no mistake ICE is going after more vulnerable populations.
i feel for the people of north minneapolis if they’re about to become a protest hot spot from outside the neighborhoods. this is an area often neglected and ignored by even its own elected officials. people not from over north should really be judicious in how they act coming over there
