Well, I’m not feeling sorry for him at all. Actions have consequences. Also, he doesn’t seem regretful that he used AI in the first place, just that he didn’t check the AI’s work and is now dealing with the fallout. It’s fine if his writing career is over. He wasn’t really a writer anyway.
This is from the guy who “wrote” that best book list that ran in the Chicago Sun Times and other papers yesterday. I actually feel a bit sorry for him, although he did cheat and was caught and should summarily be punished. Like he said, his writing career is over. It should be.
