If you're around on October 25 or 26, consider a lovely autumn walk that will showcase local businesses and the residential communities that they are a part of.

A Jane's Walk so nice, we had to run it twice! And now...quadrice?

I'm retreading the steps I took with the folks from @moreneighboursto.bsky.social, but with a stronger emphasis on retail. This topic is being revisited by Council; we're going to win.

What's behind the carousel of Japanese leadership. Is this mostly internal LDP party dynamics, or something parliamentary or externally driven?

"The construction will take out an existing concrete median to make space for two lanes of vehicle traffic in each direction, as well as [keep] the bike lanes on both sides of the road."

have got to imagine that slapping heritage designations on foreign diplomatic buildings is a tried-and-true method of bureaucratic gamesmanship!

(not saying that's what's happening here, just that it feels like a recognized tactic, like the whole deal with parking infractions)

"In a meaningful way, the story of Toronto—a city in the midst of a housing emergency—is the story of how these two neighbourhoods interact."

Frankly, a speed camera isn't sufficient for that type of stunt driving. That should have brought a police visit, and if we had the right legislation, demerit points and insurance reporting at a minimum (if we had the legislation for it.)

Thanks! Doesn't seem like I'm able to DM you or the National Observer account, so I've just submitted my muni list request via the registration form.

I mean they're not exactly wrong. The facts of vehicle speed and the damage they cause vs some few minutes of extra convenience doesn't seem sufficient for a certain segment. Trying political hypocrisy as an argument to engage their sense of outrage feels a valid tactic.
