This brown skinned landscaper was minding his business on a job in Edgewater when 3 masked ICE thugs took him away. Then on leaving the 3 reportedly got out of their car, turned their guns on a woman and tried to get into her car for apparently driving too close searching for parking near her home

If anything made sense, this would become a dense, medium/high-rise mixed income mixed use apartment building, but I’m sure we’ll hear about why that will actually hurt the “character of the neighborhood” and why it should be some squat two story building with surface parking instead 🙄

Despite being two blocks from the 'L' and in the shadow of a half-dozen 20-30 story high rises, this site only allows a FAR of 2.5 by right. And that's with one of the highest-density residential zonings! By my calculation, the existing building has a FAR of ≈2.47. We gotta up those numbers.

there's also apparently just no way to get to Decatur via intercity bus

We have a great Amtrak network already but we definitely need to expand - as well as support more intercity bus operations

related: the only* way to get to Peoria via public transit (no driving/flying) is by Peoria Charter and you have like two hours there before you gotta grab the last bus back to Chicago (only on certain days of the week, too)

*there is Flixhound but that is a multi-day trip

I want one place I can search for intercity bus trips and see ALL my options, their prices, the travel time, etc.

Agents reportedly abducted one man from this Dunkin at Belmont and Milwaukee around 9:30am before speeding off.

For what it's worth, the Hiawatha is one of the more frequent services outside of the northeast, so CHI-MKE by train is already pretty feasible
