the migration is definitely coming along. glad we made all the backups we did ahead of time, cause redownloading ~3TB of our Steam library would have sucked some kinda ass. instead we maybe had to redownload maybe 50 or 60GB despite the Windows to Linux migration because we're a witch like that.

their backend is *really fucking slow* to expire auth, speaking as someone who works with it regularly. the good news is a password reset will at least prevent that on the backend, but depends how quickly the frontends sync before apparent forced logout.

okay, the amount of storage we have dedicated to redundancy and backup compared with the total amount in our primary desktop is kind of horrifying, but at least we’re reasonably sure we won’t lose any data outside of like a freak localized electric storm or such 😅

very, we hate how things like that become standard practice. like just use a random word generator if you're gonna crawl so far up your own butt. not need to make things entirely unreadable.
