If you want to listen to or read my play MAKING PLANS WITH NIGEL - as broadcast on Radio 4 - you can now do so here: erislabs.net/stu/nigel/

It's a comedy drama about those never-not-hilarious topics - breast cancer and Brexit. Starring Mark Benton , Sally Lindsay & Lewis MacLeod.

A man at the pub recognised my PAPRIKA t-shirt and we engaged in several minutes of Satoshi Kon chat, resulting in me getting an anime rec. Basically the platonic ideal of how you want a t-shirt recognition event to go.

Oh man, Diane Keaton. RIP :(

Just flown in from Riyadh, and boy are my excuses tired

Same (I also follow HL as I have worked with her and she is generally pleasant and interesting. Do I agree with her 100%? No. Do I agree with any of even my close friends 100%? Also no.)

That's nuts and must be deliberately malicious (or some people really do think all art is AI)

Yeah, my attitude to these lists is mostly based on the idea that if your thinking is so black and white that you can't allow people to follow who they like then please do block away. "Scammer" seemed out of nowhere though

Brian, you are NOTORIOUS for this so good to see someone has finally called you out :-)

Checked ClearSky to see I had been blocked by a handful of people. Seems I am on this list and I can't work out why.

(It surely can't be the bigoted, conspiratorial scams I perpetrate to predate on fellow bottom-dwellers? Seems quite judgey if so.)

Wow, so people are getting annoyed about the half time show in advance?

Is it the Superbowl this Sunday? Only, the Superb Owl joke is usually the harbinger and I haven't seen any this year.

Just googled and it seems Jack Se*le in the Guardian loved it, which is a huge red flag
stuarthoughton.bsky.social
Oh cool I hadn't heard about that

Am I right in thinking Hollywood has cocked up a film version of the Parker novels *again*? I cannot imagine a worse actor to play that character, and last time it was Jason Statham FFS.

I had high hopes but it was so clunky. Not heard of Ragdoll - is that Sky?

Also, John Cena was really good in it.

The PEACEMAKER finale could never live up to the hype but I thought it tied up the main arcs of the show quite nicely, while still giving a tease of bigger and weirder DC things to come. In the end, this wasn't a show about people punching things better, but about having honest conversations.

So the last form of government I read about was when they got the eldest prince to rule because the king was insane and honestly I think that was the best one. But apparently that's just "regency bias" 🙄

Non-zero chance that White House staff will just tell Trump he got the Nobel and stage a fake presentation ceremony for him in a side room.

Maybe it's a Russian plan to destabilise Europe by making our breakfast slightly more annoying to make
