Always happiest when under a cloud.
Driving for See Nature's Fury, this was my view of the Arnett, OK tornado; a full, unobstructed view as it advanced towards us and roped out over town.

I love a good anvil crawler! Caught these west of Oklahoma City after a tricky day of chasing and being bitten by mozzies. #lightning #stormphotography #stormchasing #stormclouds #skywx #stormhour @stormhour.com

Here are some more shots I took of the beech trees in my local park. I experimented with framing and extreme wide angles but the whole scene was crying out for that b&w shot. #noir #photography #trees #nature #northumberland #stormhour

A trio of magnificent beech trees in my local park. Love it when you don't have to travel far to get some striking captures! #trees #photography #nature #stormhour #landscape #northumberland

#Spring is definitely in the air now and whilst I wait for the #wildflowers to bloom again, here's one of my favourite #bluebell #woodland photos that I took last year in the gorgeous Hollingside Wood.

Another day, another glorious sunrise over St Mary's Island. A far-reaching, shallow bank of sea fret prevented the sun from lighting up the cloud base but it did serve to diffuse those colours! #photography #lighthouse #stormhour #sunrise #colours #northumberland

Another shot of the glorious sunrise over St Mary's Lighthouse in #Northumberland this time with super sexy reflections in the outgoing tide. Coastal #photography isn't necessarily my thing but gotta admit I'm quite taken by this location #stormhour #photohour #skywx #sunrise

Glorious sunrise over St Mary's Lighthouse at the weekend. Well worth getting out of bed for!! #lighthouses #sunrise #photography #landscape #seascape #skywx #bluewx #stormhour

A test for a new project I'm working on, combining noir photography with abstract long exposure sky photography. Keep your eyes peeled for future posts!! #noir #photography #longexposure #landscape #blackandwhite #lighthouse #seascape #photohour #stormhour

Happy Monday everybody! Those of you follow me on Facebook are probably aware by now that I had to take a brief step back from #photography and posting on social media due to a death in the family. BUT I've been putting things together in the background and posting should resume again soon. ❤️

Some rock textures I took from along the #Northumberland coastline last week. #textures

How have I not noticed this before? #Instagram on desktop has no ads, no suggested content and nothing but content from people I follow! 🤯😂 #mindblown

A #landscape version of my frozen boat image portrait from last week. Not sure which one I prefer 🤔

There was a lot of fog around these parts last weekend so I grabbed my camera and headed for the nearest bunch of trees #landscape #photography #mist #fog #trees #woodland #photohour

One of the best things to do after a long day of chasing storms is to sit back and watch that storm spit out loads of lightning as it disappears off into the night. This was the left split from the Lamar, CO #supercell back in May 2024 #lightning #thunderstorm #stormclouds #stormchasing #stormhour

Somewthing a bit different from me but something I've always wanted to capture. We tend not to get seas like this too often around these parts so was chuffed to have the chance to experiment when a bit of a swell showed up at Tynemouth Priory. #waves #seascape #photography #photohour

I've not shared any #aurora photos to Bluesky yet so here are a few from October's magnificent G4 display over #Northumberland. An isolated tithe barn provided the focus for most of the display before I shifted to a windfarm when shit got real. #northernlights #photography #stormhour

Constant sub zero temperatures for over a week meant that even a body of water the size of Kielder Resevoir began to freeze over. High pressure and no wind turned the entire surface into glass. Grabbed this shot late afternoon last weekend. #photography #landscape #reflections #stormhour #rozen

I think I've settled my own internal debate now about which is my favourite season to photograph. I shot these around my local park a couple of weeks ago following heavy overnight snowfall. #snowhour #photography #landscape #winter #snow

Summerhill Force looking all proper Narnia-like at the weekend just before the thaw set in. Love that huge accumulation of ice at the foot of the falls. #waterfallwednesday #waterfall #photography #snowhour #landscape

Freezing #fog enveloping Bowmont Forest in the Scottish Borders at the weekend. Wish it had hung around for longer so I could have grabbed more shots like this. #mist #winter #landscape #photography #woodland #trees #photohour #snowhour

Parts of Hadrian's Wall disappeared up into the cloud base at times creating some ethereal white-out conditions. Made photography a bit tricky as well as stinging little ice pellets were blown into your face from the east. #snowhour #landscape #photography #northumberland #hadrianswall
