Pub 3066, Victoria Hotel. Norham. Don't ig-norham (thanks), this is a beautiful little setting and a Jarl that finally lives up to its reputation. Outside to smuggle pork pie, like a summer's day. I could live here!

Pub 3065, Fishers Arms, Horncliffe. Community buy out gem. The friendly volunteer duo's son lived near me, lead singer of Blackbeard's Tea Party who I seen a few times! Equinox drinks well. Dad makes sure Stanley Accrington isn't a real name.

Shame when pubs can't keep their cask properly cos it is always more rewarding than any keg beer when they do!

Post emptive, Craw Inn, Auchencrow. Seemed a controversial drop in a tricky location. Beautiful pub but my Jarl was slightly vinegar so CAMRA made right decision on that basis!

Pub 3063, Newcastle Arms Hotel, Coldstream. I 'guarded' against optimism, and glad I did because it is a pretty non-descript hotel bar. Difficult accents. One hand pump hiding, but it were reet good. Our greyhound finished 2nd last despite pre-race poo.

Pub 3064 , Allanton Inn, Allanton. Quality stuff with Katrina our whirlwind host on top form. Loved BRAPA. Deuchars drank superbly well. Tall cellarman says hi. A duke is coming in later. 'Hope he's having a duke-ers' I said. I won't do a better joke all year.

Pub 3062, Alderley Edge Union Club. Had to be buzzed in, jokey comments when I mention CAMRA 'have you got a long lens?' (huh?) It soon became good. Once I allowed the football to be put on ahead of darts! Top locals, passed my GBG around. Beer high quality. Snooker.

Pub 3061, Victoria Club, Holmes Chapel. As the sun sets over the cricket pitch, I manage to tailgate a bloke from my train. Shanty the dog loves me a bit too much. The Mythic beer goes from water to 2 pint measure , not sure staff loved my mythic jokes. Which were amazing btw.

Cheers Andy, did it earlier this year without wanting to sound clever! Actually amazed it didn't get in this Guide. Too new maybe? Drank something very strong. The barman loved Aussie punk rock. Windows steamed up.

Pub 3060. The Steelworks, Bredbury. 68% up, c'mon let's reduce that deficit! What a lovely couple in charge. Free Atom taster. Two Hull City supporting nephews. Turkish sweets. Outdoor Hyde smokey women. Pie poisoner. Cask Boddies, I enjoyed it.

Pub 3059, Bevi, Marple. First Hallowe'en decor sightings of the season at this dark grey micro with beating heart and a great Shroppie droppy. Ace landlady called me 'luvvie' X3 and sympathetic about the hill.

Pub 3058, Thomas Egerton, Bromley Cross. Lunchy but homely friendly atmosphere. Worried when she said they're flogging the Bank Top for £3 to get rid of it. But it was a first class pint, phew. Man mishears waffle fries as awful fries 🍟 😄

Pub 3057, Pack Horse, Affetside. Zimmer lady hates the Traitors cos people keep telling lies! Formal foodie Hyde's. Had to be given special dispensation by a computer to sit by fire. Beer is fresh n ok. Armchair too low for table. Autumn pubbing is here 🍁

York Tap. Last orders pre KFC cos I'm soberer than I was in Oxon. Owlie McBurnie says hi. Floor 8/10 despite no carpet. Toilets less bad than usual. First spooky beer of the season. A fine station pub.
