Queer ascetic nomad, traveling around the US in Subarus since 2015. Reading a lot of books. Weird abolitionist, anti-prohibition, AI-hating tendencies.
Went to school for psych & math, working in software begrudgingly

The most important thing about me is that in 2015, I gave away almost everything I owned that didn't fit into a Subaru Outback and entered homelessness, as a nomad. Thus my tag, which really started as the name of my blog where I wrote of my travels.

I got really into long distance hiking, too
Anza Borrego Badlands Route (Full Loop)
I woke Thursday morning to temperatures hovering around freezing, cold as hell in Blair Valley. Struggling to gain the motivation to pack up my gear and begin heading out, I delayed as the sun rose…

As I finish Plotinus's Enneads, I'm convinced Plotinus and Hegel are deeply related lol. Idk, though, I don't really like the traditional triadic view of Hegel's dialectics although the triads that show up are fun. But I feel like Plotinus adds a lot to understanding Hegel, I guess

The more my allergies invoke a panic response, the more I think everyone clamoring about the new generation of antihistamines not being so psychoactive are all fucking psychotic bitches

This is what I mean when I say anti-homeless policies are inherently undemocratic and will catch up to other people one way or another.
A Hampton Inn in Asheville just canceled my family's reservation because our address (incorrectly) showed Asheville—and the hotel bars locals within 50 miles.

When I asked why, they said, "because of our homeless population," adding that most hotels here have similar policies.

This is outrageous.

I have this one from some artist in San Diego that my friend bought me after a conversation staring at it

I have so many cool stories as art on my wall.

One I feel a lil weird about but a close friend and I sat at a coffee shop staring at and discussing for like an hour and then she bought it for me weeks later lol. And I like that I have it.

Unquivering solidarity with those who did not kill themselves this year, and the survivors of those who did as well. Unquivering empathy and memory for those who did. Another year lies before us soon.

All the arguments for AI are like "the world already sucks donkey dick so why not just suck machine dick too?" or "you fucking rube, it's the future, and you're an asshole for not seeing that" or like "sure it's killing people but isn't the REAL problem that they're vulnerable to murder"

Y'know, I think until neurophenomenology gets significant, I'm going to continue thinking the neuroscience-matters-so-much-to-philisophical-questions are a lil myopic. Lmfao

My reading list isn't a goal or a directive so much as a collection of potentialities I see actualized through rigorous work and intellection!

Genuinely one thing I can't wait for is to explore Neitzsche's famed "God is dead" work, fully knowing Hegel and others before him explored a meaning of that phrase and nobody ever cites them lol

Probably the biggest thing about Plotinus, in my mind, is that if you really study him, you'll understand a LOT of what people are talking about in a surprising number of topics lol

Spent some time looking at my reading goals for 2026. I want to do some rereading that's probably going to be a lot of like, yeah, I know the basic arguments having read it already, throw it on audio and do the dishes kinda reading. Which I always get extra out of, but isn't like deep reading.

Idk man, Plutarch sure does call everyone vegetables a lot with this vegetative process stuff /s

Apparently, I really need to get to Heidegger lol.
We'll see. He's a way up the chain for me.

Also, today, I ended up stuck driving 6 miles in 1 hour!!! Fuck that! I would literally rather drive 3 hours longer without traffic just to not do THAT

Really thinking of adding some Aristotle reread to my pre Schopey lol. I've been doing a lot of Platonism, like Plato, Plutarch, Plotinus rereads, and I'm really enjoying my matured perspective from my first encounter. And it's making me want to stop at Aristotle a lil lol

Nah, I hate the "addiction" language people use for reasons

1. It's not well defined. You can't say you're "at least naming it" because the conclusion of the addiction studies field is that we can't agree on what "addiction" is and use much more washy terms like substance use disorder lol.

My will stencil filter is not working well enough to be honest with y'all.

As I look a lil closer at what I want to read in 2026 and how, I kinda am starting to think I'll get through Marx but Neitzsche is gonna be a pull
December 27, 2025 at 6:23 AM
No, really, people annoy the absolute shit out of me, but it's too fucking amusing not to want to be annoyed, effectively.

Very sad news that Perry Bamonte, who handled guitars, keys and bass for The Cure from 1990, has passed away following a short illness.
