You never know… My Dad left behind piles of old journals (see image). It would be a shame to recycle them all so if you want any, or know anyone or any place that might, please let me know. Feel free to pass this on.

How much longer until Leith Walk is 100% bakeries, I wonder?

Just doing my thing, checking out Trustpilot reviews for an online bra company and come across this little exchange…

So bloody pleased for so many people who’ve been hanging on for this.
Genuine question: Is there a way of doing this that doesn’t condemn the entire creative sector to a three-yearly near-breakdown as the Big Decision is awaited?
Creative Scotland round-up: Huge boosts for Summerhall, Filmhouse & Belmont reopening bids, CCA & Aye Write in Glasgow, Cumnock Tryst & Hebcelt festivals, but Cumbernauld Theatre loses funding & Traverse & Scottish Poetry Library are thrown lifelines. www.scotsman.com/news/theatre...

Saw a red admiral butterfly today. Which was lovely. But it’s January.

If you like drama, I can recommend being in the middle of boarding a busy flight when EVERYONE’S phone suddenly start screaming with the Scot Govt emergency alert.🚨

When I think of the times we went to Colchester Castle on school trips and this was NEVER on the tour.
Think your quirky coffee mug is unique? The Romans were way ahead of you. This drinking cup—decorated in a way that definitely would have turned heads—proves that ancient humour was just as cheeky as today’s!

The main character syndrome is just breathtaking: “I’ve got to go and have a great time with people who are lying to my face.”

It took me about a decade of living in my flat, to realise how David Lynch had subliminally affected my interior decor choices. Behold, the Red Room and my kitchen.

Just once I’d like to see one of the banished folk stand up and say: “I hate you all, you vicious bastards, I’ll never forgive you, I’m a faithful…” instead of thanking everyone for such a great time

Oh. Tony Slattery.

Doesn't seem right or possible that both he and Sean Hughes are gone - two of the most joyful of the 90s comedy set.

Stop it, time, just stand still for a bit, please.

Ben Folds, Pete Rose and Britney Spears walk into a bar
Does anyone know the term describing people's names that are also grammatical two-word sentences? I've forgotten what the term is, and Google search is no help.

What a joy Edinburgh’s First Footin’ gigs were - wandering around the Old Town bouncing between free gigs all afternoon - Karine Polwart at St Giles…

Age yourself with a film you saw in the cinema as a child.

Fortunately I was too young to pay attention and just spent the whole time playing on the stairs, avoiding bunny sadness. Still remember how fascinating the stairs were, so a win all in all.

I’d love to see trending topics, though.
I know they’re maybe not healthy but I *loved* being able to see at a glance what the county was talking about, not just my immediate friends (even on the days everyone was only talking about 30 footballers I’d never heard of).
What I like about Bluesky — and what used to be so great about Twitter, and what Threads never figured out — is that I can load it up and immediately know what’s happening in the world

I am utterly delighted by this subversive use of the Bluesky label feature, where you can subscribe to a custom app that then adds visible labels to profiles

This one shows you which posh expensive private school British public figures attended, plus their current fees

I was several places behind Posh Spice in the queue to pay at a petrol station in Essex Road, Islington, c.2000.
I bumped into David Soul at a party. And he apologised
I ran into Harry shearer with a shopping trolley in a Tesco in Edinburgh.

Interesting... for $11 I could have all my 16,799 tweets grabbed from Twitter and uploaded, backdated, to my Bluesky account.
Hoarding me is tempted.
