Just watched Muppet Christmas Carol for the first time in years. I always forget just how good Michael Caine is in that film. Plays it dead straight, acts it really well and the whole film is all the better for it. I reckon it's one of his best performances!

Feeling slightly conflicted by this. On the one hand, BBC’s athletics coverage has been dire and complacent for so long now that I won’t miss it. OTOH, I do think events like this should be free-to-air and this is yet another nail in the coffin for the licence fee.

Well I’m glad I didn’t bother to stay up beyond 12.30 to watch that shower of shit. Still, it’s nice that England are looking after me by ensuring I don’t bother to stay up late to watch them for the rest of this series.

Having watched all three ‘Knives Out’ films over consecutive nights, ‘Wake Up Dead Man’ felt darker and more serious than the previous two and a bit too heavy-handed on the allegory. Also there really wasn’t enough Benoit Blanc! Still, there was a wee bit of humour there. ScoobyDoobyDoo/10.
