This is the first festive film we’ve watched this year (together anyway - I watched Tinsel Town on my own the other week). I love Spirited but we’ve watched that 2 years on the trot so doubt we’ll watch this year.

No, the commentary team are great (though I could live without Colin Jackson). It’s the constant focus on punditry in the studio and repetitive puff pieces when they could/should be showing live action together with overhyping of UK athletes that has frustrated me for years.

I’m only on FB to keep in touch with family. It’s bad enough that my feed is full of ads and algorithmic tripe. This would definitely make me leave altogether.

I don't disagree with any of this. Like I said, I would much prefer it to be free-to-air. As a lifelong cricket fan, I've seen for myself the impact it's had on cricket. My conflicted feelings are that I'm not sad that the BBC have lost the rights due to their increasingly poor athletics coverage.
