Nature has a way of grounding us.

A moment’s pause in the wild can be a simple act of self-care.

Where do you go to unwind and reconnect? 🍃

Halesworth - how you've changed. What architecture!

The season of mists, mellow fruitfulness - and squirty sheds. 66701 and 66756 cross Whitlingham Junction, Norwich, on the first leaf-blasting railhead treatment train (RHTT) of autumn 2025. @gerbil1978.bsky.social @pickgs.bsky.social @rangercaps66.bsky.social @thattallbloke.bsky.social

Today's Suffolk sunrise, near Halesworth.
The sun rises above the trees between dark clouds and a fiery sky, streaked with jet trails.

An ominous restaurant sign in Southwold...
A paper sign at a bar which says: no refunds or replacements will be given if seagulls steal your food - be vigilant.

We had a fascinating visit to #StoneyLittleton #LongBarrow today. Our @englishheritage.bsky.social guide was clearly passionate about the barrow, and shared with us a wealth of information about the people who built it and its discovery and restoration
The entrance to Stoney Littleton long barrow. A stone entrance flanked by what looks similar to dry stone walling, with a turf mound above, under a blue sky Stoney Littleton long barrow from the side, showing its position on the gentle slope of a hill. Inside Stoney Littleton long barrow. Gravel/earth floor, stones of varying sizes make up the walls, chambers and roof The ammonite at the entrance to Stoney Littleton long barrow

One day, nearly 2000 years ago, a cat dashed across some drying tiles, somewhere near Hadrian's Wall.

It's immortality of a kind, isn't it?
Photo of square orange tiles, set into the ground, across one of which several cats footprints are clearly visible.

The ‘Wirksworth Stone’ - a sculptured stone-slab from St. Mary’s Church at Wirksworth in Derbyshire. Comprising of biblical scenes and figures, the stone dates from the C7th to C9th and may have originally been used as a coffin lid. 📸 My own. #SaxonSunday #SundayStonework

The clickety clack soundtrack of @eastsuffolklines.co.uk is being silenced, bit by bit, as the line is modernised. Here's @greateranglia.bsky.social 755409 thundering through a section of old jointed track at Bramfield, on the 8.05am Lowestoft to Ipswich today. @railway200.bsky.social #railway200

Learnt so much today from fascinating #HeritageOpenDays in Suffolk.
St Benet's, Beccles; St Andrews, Ilketshall with fab wall paintings and St Mary's Halesworth, I now know we buy our newspaper from the once medieval Guildhall. Thanks to all the volunteers.
