for sure. i'm also ultimately just always happy to see trans ppl, especially transfems at a time when the world is so full of transmisogynistic violence seeing themselves in characters and finding joy in it, i know ppl often have deeper thoughts on a character than they express in quick online

tldr i think theres a way to like. embrace multiple queer readings of a character without having it be entirely based on misogynistic stereotypes, and the angle from which ppl are approaching a headcannon *does* matter bc we dont live in a vacuum

completely sure how quattro is supposed to read (androgyny being in style at the time and all), but i do wonder if its a case of a modern western audience imposing our ideas about gender onto a character from a culture w/ different standards of masculinity

no i totally get you and this is something ive talked about a lot with friends. i know a lot of transfems rly resonate with a lot of the thematic motifs of ~being a mech pilot~ and i really enjoy a lot of transfem readings of char n other characters that really build on how much of a constraining
