Sketchy drawing of an anthro American kestrel. The markings and colors are typical of a real kestrel, but the slaty gray-blue is lightened to a seafoam color and the rusty orange-brown is a pale, sunny orange. The spots on the flanks are triangular in shape and shades of slaty blue and teal instead of black. He's also wearing a spring-green bandana, and a sailor bracelet around one leg. The same character and drawing, but now wearing a pair of aviator goggles on his forehead and a bright red bandana. The same character but in colors closer to a natural kestrel, and wearing a white and red raglan tee and the goggles. I love making alternate versions of things.

I see awesome artists get a lot of appreciation for a well-executed, unique thing they did and part of me is like "why didn't I think of that??" and the answer is ofc that they drew what THEY LIKE, not what they saw someone else draw. so then I ask myself what do I LIKE and I literally don't know
